WELCOMING WOMEN TO BEAUTIFUL NIAGARA-ON-THE-LAKE
January 2025 President’s Message
Happy New Year!
As we welcome in the new year, we find ourselves reflecting on the past year and looking forward, in anticipation, to what 2025 will bring.
We had 2 wonderful Holiday lunches at Hob Nob restaurant in December. The venue was beautiful, the food and service were exceptional, and we all enjoyed good company and lively conversations.
The New Year brings us some interesting programs –
2 talks at the Museum:
January 29 – “Not all Women are Saints” – a look at the treatment of Women in the Criminal Justice system from the early 1800’s until WW I.
March 19- “British Home Children”-
February – a tour of Niagara College and Lunch at Benchmark Restaurant.
April - A trip to the Apple Hill Apothecary
May - High Tea at McFarland House
May 21 – AGM- Community Center
June – trip to Grimo Nut Nursery on Lakeshore Road
June 18- End of Year Luncheon- Queenston Heights Restaurant
Keep an eye on the Newsletter and website for details, payment options and RSVP deadlines.
As we say goodbye to 2024 and look toward 2025, I am reminded of December 1999, a quarter century ago - Y2K . Remember the worry about what would happen to the computers, to all our systems? So much angst and worry and, in the end, it turned out fine.
Change always takes us out of our comfort zone but, it also brings new experiences and new opportunities.
I wish you all a Happy, Healthy and Exciting 2025!!! Hang on Tight…………it will be a year of Big Change.
Yours in friendship, Megan Wood President NOTL Newcomers
The NOTL Newcomers Club is for women who live in the Ontario municipality of Niagara-on-the-Lake, which includes Old Town, Glendale, Queenston, St. Davids and Virgil. Our goal is to welcome women who are new to the town, and to help them meet one another and discover everything our unique town has to offer residents.
Membership is open to women who have recently moved to Niagara-on-the-Lake (NOTL) and also to women residents who have undergone a major change in their lives, such as retirement, and want to become more involved in local life.
As a social club our goal is to help women who are new to the Niagara-on-the-Lake area, or who have had a significant life change to make new friends and participate in fun social activities. Let's all hope that we will be able to have a busy year full of fun, social engagements and join a new interest group or participate in a new activity where we meet new people.
