WELCOMING WOMEN TO BEAUTIFUL NIAGARA-ON-THE-LAKE

Presidents Message – March 2026

We made it!!! The sun is back and the days are getting longer.  Clocks spring forward on Sunday March 8, 2026.

It has been a long, snowy winter – Let’s hope for a sunny, warm Spring.

 ——————————————————————————

Our Newcomers groups have been busy enjoying various outings and gatherings: The Valentine Cookie bake class was full with 10 members attending; The Great Grape ladies enjoyed a tasty and educational outing at Southbrook Winery and 30 members attended the Museum for an informative presentation on the Women of NOTL in the 1800’s and early 1900’s. Unfortunately, we did cancel a few programs due to low ticket sales so we are re-evaluating the Programs that will be offered going forward. We might have been a bit ambitious this year!

Our Program team is looking for suggestions and ideas from our membership, – keep an eye out for a Survey looking for your feedback. We value what you have to tell us – it helps us design programs that many members would be interested in.

We are also looking for 2 new Board members for next year, to join our Programs Team - A Director - Special Programs  ( 3-4 per year) and a Director- Programs who oversees the monthly programs, with the help of committee members. We also hope to find a member who is interested in managing our website, as needed. Ideally, this person has been a Newcomer for a few years and is familiar with accessing our website and can monitor and edit our website and Facebook page. Training is provided. You would be part of a Communications Team.

International Women’s Day is being celebrated here in NOTL on Sunday, March 8 with a photo opportunity at Simcoe Park (across from the Prince of Wales Hotel) by the bandstand. NOTL Newcomers always attends, to join with the other amazing women of Niagara-on-the- Lake.  If you can, please join us – 1:00 pm to gather– Photo op at 1:30 sharp.

St Patricks Day is March 17th – May the Luck of the Irish be with you! ☘️ (and the Jokers)!

Spring officially begins on March 20- with the Spring Equinox! Let’s hope for lots of sun, our gardens waking up and the days getting warmer.  Almost BBQ time!

Yours in Friendship

NOTL Newcomers

The NOTL Newcomers Club is a Social Club for women who live in the Ontario municipality of Niagara-on-the-Lake, which includes Old Town, Glendale, Queenston, St. Davids and Virgil.

Membership is open to women who have recently moved to Niagara-on-the-Lake (NOTL) and to women residents who have undergone a major change in their lives, such as retirement, divorce, loss of a loved one or other life changes that have them wanting to become more involved in local life.

Our goal is to welcome women and to help them meet one another and discover everything our unique town and region has to offer residents.

We are a social club – we encourage our members to join a new interest group, participate in a new activity, or come to Coffee and Conversation and meet some new friends.
