The NOTL Newcomers Club is a Social Club for women who live in the Ontario municipality of Niagara-on-the-Lake, which includes Old Town, Glendale, Queenston, St. Davids and Virgil.
Membership is open to women who have recently moved to Niagara-on-the-Lake (NOTL) and to women residents who have undergone a major change in their lives, such as retirement, divorce, loss of a loved one or other life changes that have them wanting to become more involved in local life.
Our goal is to welcome women and to help them meet one another and discover everything our unique town and region has to offer residents.
We are a social club – we encourage our members to join a new interest group, participate in a new activity, or come to Coffee and Conversation and meet some new friends.
We kindly request that Members help us provide a Scent Aware environment at club activities.
Monthly Programs Usually held from September to June on the third Wednesday of the month from 1:30 to 3:30 pm. Some programs are a visit to a local place of interest, others take the form of meetings at the NOTL Community Centre, and twice a year we all enjoy a celebration lunch together at a local hotel or restaurant. Check the Events Page for dates and times.
Interest Groups The heart of the Club with groups for active and not-so-active leisure pursuits, including biking, walking, Mah-Jong, dining out, book clubs, golf, cards - there are more than a dozen interest groups available, but if your interest isn't represented you're welcome to suggest a new group.
Coffee & Conversations Monthly opportunity to meet informally at the NOTL Community Centre. Every last Friday of the month, (except June, July and August), members meet to catch up on news, chat, sign up for programs and find out what's going on. The Simpson Room will host Newcomer members between 10 - 11:30 am. Please join us! Check the Events Page for dates and times.
Special Programs Taking place during the year and offer something a little out of the ordinary. It may be a visit to a special interest site in the area, or a chance to learn the basics of an art or craft. These programs are hot tickets and are snapped up quickly. Check the Events Page for dates and times.
We've been providing service to women who are new to Niagara-on-the-Lake since 1991. Our Club has grown from the original small group to almost 225 members. The Club regularly offers the opportunity to visit local attractions such as the Shaw Festival, local art galleries and historic buildings and venues. Additionally, there are opportunities to join dining clubs, outdoor activities, interest and hobby groups and meet local service clubs.
Thanks to the women who have taken leadership roles to ensure our Club thrives.
